Articles >> How Does Your Website Measure Up? Find Out in 3 Steps!
While there are many things to consider in answering this question, here are 3 basic questions to ask when examining your website. If you answer “No” to any of these 3 questions, you may need to give your website some attention!
1. Is it easy to navigate through your website? Use a 2 or 3-Click Rule. If someone lands on any page of your website and is looking for particular information, can they get to it in 3 clicks or less? Is it clear to the user what information your website contains and how to get to it? If your website is unorganized and hard to navigate, users may get frustrated and leave your website. 2. Does your website convey the image you want it to? This comes down to the design of your website. If you have a business website, does your website design have a professional look? Would you take it seriously? If you are selling products online, does your website appear safe and secure? Would you put your credit card information through the site if you didn’t know who it belonged to? Does it look trustworthy? The look of the website is important for these reasons and more. 3. Can visitors find your website? You may have the best looking and functioning website out there, but are the people that you want on your website able to find it? If you want more internet users to find your website, this must be taken into consideration. Having a search engine friendly design right off the bat, and then incorporating web marketing techniques will help you achieve this.
